As the release date for Sony’s PlayStation 4 quickly approaches, many have wondered about how well the device will work for PC and Mac gaming. According to a tweet from PlayStation’s president of worldwide studios (via Kotaku) the controller will indeed support “basic functions” out of the box for PCs.
Further, Kotaku has also pointed out a Vine video from Chris Galizzi showing the controller working on the Mac to play a game of Hotline Miami (available on Steam: direct link). While the method for making this work isn’t mentioned, we’ve gotten our hands on one of the controllers early, and will be testing its functionality over both USB and Bluetooth.
It will be great to see how far this compatibility goes – but at the very least, it’s a promising sign, and a great move by Sony. The DualShock 4 is now available, and you can pick one up online today via Amazon!
