Pokémon fanatics, Pocket Gamer says there is a brand new place to get your Pokémon fix: Wolfram Alpha. And the best part is, you can access it all by talking to Siri!
The massive “knowledge engine”has just added a huge set of Pokémon data, including physical characteristics, stats, and images. “In many ways, Pokémon are an ideal subject for a computable knowledge engine,” writes Michael Feltes on the Wolfram Alpha blog. “They have a set of well-defined characteristics with lots of numbers to which we can apply our analytic capabilities.”
Since Wolfram Alpha is one of Siri’s favorite places to look for answers to your queries, Pokémon loving iOS users can now ask Apple’s virtual personal assistant to search for any Pokémon related information they’re searching for. Siri can be hit or miss, and of course it may be a challenge to get Siri to understand some of the names of the characters, but…
Wolfram Alpha says it’ll be adding data from the new Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games soon, and is asking users to share what other kinds of information they’d find useful in future updates. “There’s a great deal more that we can do with Pokémon,” writes Feltes, “so let us know what you would be interested in.”
