Leaked Photo of Moga’s iPhone Gamepad Surface – Reportedly Has Built-In Battery

Even though none of the announced and rumored iOS 7 compatible gamepads has hit the market yet, competition among the devices, both real and rumored continues to heat up.

GigaOM:

Earlier this month we saw a device from Logitech, and now insider @evleaks has tweeted a picture and details of a device from Moga.

The controller is similar to the Moga Pro for Android, though the form factor is significantly more compact. The design looks to be a comfortable one for extended gaming session, and appears to use the “Extended” configuration Apple discussed at WWDC this year.

The most notable feature is a built-in 1800mAh battery, which evleaks says will allow the controller to charge your device as you play games. YES!

True universal gamepad support was just introduced with the debut of iOS 7 last month, so we can expect to see a flood of game controllers in the coming months.

(UPDATE) – MacRumors has published a second photo, showing the controller in the closed position, that had been deleted by @evleaks. As you can see below, the gamepad looks to connect to iPhone via a Lightning connector, limiting its use to the iPhone 5 and higher.
