Classic Amiga Games Are Coming to the App Store With Full iOS 7 Game Controller Functionality

If you’re a classic game enthusiast, you have reason to celebrate, as Amiga Games has today announced they will be releasing their catalog of titles in time for the 2013 holiday season. And get this, they will all be compatible with iOS 7 gaming controllers.

Customized for iOS, and with support for iOS 7 game controllers sounds like a winner to us. There’s nothing in the way of details at this point, but needless to say we’re pretty excited for launch day. Anyone else? Check out the full press release at the link below.

While I’m not sure if Amiga Games has the rights to one of my favorite games, “Shadow of the Beast,” I wanted to show it to you. When compared to today’s games this might look a bit cheesy, but you have to remember, this game was released in 1989, when PC gaming consisted of 16 colors and some beeps and boops for music and sound efeccts. It was amazing that a home computer could do these effects without the help of expensive add-on cards.
