AT&T Debuts $5 a Day Data Plan for iPad Users

AT&T will offer a new $5 a day data plan for tablet users. In announcing the plan on Thursday at GigaOM’s Mobilize Conference, SVP of Emerging Devices Chis Penrose said the plan would be available for 3G and LTE iPads, (and yes, AT&T’s other cellular capable tablets), promoting it as a cheaper alternative than hotel Wi-Fi for those that need only a day or two of data.

9to5Mac:

The plan will give users 250MB a day and AT&T says it will make it easy for customers to purchase the data sessions online directly on their iPad. The carrier is also offering a new plan for tablet users that offers 1GB over three months for $25.

The new plan will be offered in addition to the established $10 per month add a tablet option in AT&T’s Mobile Share plan, and the 30-day 250MB DataConnect plan the carrier offers for $14.99.
