Readdle today released a major new version of their popular iOS calendar app, simply titled “Calendars.” The update brings quite a lot to the table, including a brand new revamped design to match the look and feel of iOS 7, powerful new features such as a built-in task manager (to-do list) with alerts, natural language input support, improved cloud syncing, and much, much more.
I’ve had a week or two to tinker with this app, and have used it as my exclusive iOS calendar app (on iOS 7) to give it a fair shake – and I have been extremely impressed. In fact, of all the calendar apps I have tried, I’ve never actually brought myself to replace the built-in iOS calendar app with a third-party solution. Calendars 5 changes all of that. It really is that phenomenal.
The most impressive feature is the natural language input. For instance, instead of entering all of the details for an upcoming appointment by hand, you can simply type something like “Lunch with Bob at noon tomorrow, at Olive Garden. Calendars handles the rest quickly, easily, and automatically. For the $5 price that Readdle is asking, Calendars 5 is well worth the money, and then some. Not only does it support both Google Calendars and your native iOS Calendar, it does so with style and simplicity.
Calendars 5 is available now for immediate download from the App Store, and supports both iPhone and iPad. For more details, check out Readdle’s official announcement. We’ll have a full review of Calendars 5 within the next couple of weeks!
