Unbox Therapy is back at it this morning. This go-round, they’re showing off what appears to be the shell for the second-generation iPad mini. While there don’t appear to be many changes in the new model’s shell, it does look to be the same thickness as the shell for the upcoming fifth-generation iPad whose shell was shown off yesterday.
Earlier today, we saw a closer look at the shell for the 5th generation 9.7″ iPad, and in this new video, we see just how similar it is to the iPad mini. Aside from height and width, the two casings appear to be identical, using the same design first introduced with the original iPad mini last fall.
Aside from the dimensions you’d expect to be different, height and width, the two casings look to be close to identical. The actual shell casing doesn’t look to be getting a big change in design this time around.
Sadly, while the video does show us what the outside of the new iPad mini will look like, it doesn’t shed any light on possible internal components, such as a Retina display. It does however, give us what many readers may have been hoping for, an “iPad sandwich.”
Apple is expected to announced new iPads in October.
