Following Apple’s decision to replace the “vader black” finish for the new iPhone 5S with the new “space gray” color, Apple has also added a “space gray” color option to the iPod touch, iPod nano and iPod shuffle. The new color option for the iPods was first noticed by MacRumors, and brings the iPod lineup into consistency with the new iPhones.
The fact that Apple make this change so subtly might not bode well for chances of an iPod refresh in the near future (or any time this year), as it would make little sense to make any manufacturing change if they were preparing to release new models in the next month or so. As with the iPhone 5S, the space gray option replaces the black color on the current iPod lineup.
Prices were not affected, and pricing on all available iPods remains unchanged. If you’d still like to get your hands on the black/slate versions, they are still available while supplies last over at Amazon!
