Apple’s built-in iOS apps are useful for most users, but many iPhone users inevitably find that they just don’t need all of Apple’s pre-installed apps. Unfortunately, Apple does not provide a way to hide or remove the stock iOS apps from your iPhone or iPad. Most folks resort to simply stuffing the unwanted apps in a folder to be forgotten.
Dom Esposito at AppAdvice points out, however, that there may be another way. Due to a glitch in iOS 7, it’s apparently possible to hide Apple’s stock apps in the public release of iOS 7! The glitch has been present in the iOS 7 beta from day 1, and apparently still exists in the final version. The below video overview shows you how it’s done!
It’s unclear how long this will remain possible – or what will happen when Apple releases the next iOS update – but for now, this could be a useful trick for users frustrated with the unwanted built-in Apple apps cluttering up their home screens.
