Google Offers Quickoffice iOS Suite Free with 10GB Google Drive Storage

Following Apple’s move to make it’s iWork Office Suite free for new iPhone, iPads, and iPod touch buyers, Google has announced that its making its Quickoffice software free to all users. Quickoffice, a universal iOS app, allows users to view and edit Microsoft Office files.

Google is introducing a newly unified Quickoffice app that supports both the iPad and the iPhone. The app also integrates with Google Drive storage, letting users save and access files from anywhere. Previous versions of Quickoffice have been removed from the App Store, and Google is encouraging existing users to download the new app.

Quickoffice integrates with Google Drive storage, so files can be accessed from anywhere. (Google will give users who sign into their Google Account from the Quickoffice app by September 26th an extra 10GB of Google Drive space.)

The updated Quickoffice app also includes such new features as the ability to create ZIP folders, and viewing of charts in Excel and Powerpoint files.
