Adobe has announced a new “Photography Program” which for a $9.99 per month fee will offer photographers who own a previous version of Photoshop, (CS3 and up), access to Photoshop CC (a “lite” version of Photoshop), Lightroom 5, and a Behance membership that will give the user access to Adobe ProSite, and 20GB of cloud storage.
This offer is valid until December 31, 2013, but it’s worth noting that this is not an introductory price. Users who subscribe now will continue to pay $9.99 even after the offer expires. We asked Adobe about its plans for after the offer expires, but the company had no comment.
Adobe says it’s offering this program based on feedback from “advanced professionals to casual enthusiasts.” Adobe also offers a full “Creative Cloud” subscription program, starting at $49.99 per month, which gives subscribers access to almost all of Adobe’s popular apps.
Adobe announced in May that it would switch to a subscription-based business model for its software suite. Since then, it has quickly added to its subscriber base. In its June earnings report, Adobe noted that it had 700,000 paid Creative Cloud subscribers, an increase of 221,000 over the previous quarter.
