New pics show alleged “iPhone 5S” components compared to those of the current iPhone 5 show some minor internal changes, most significantly a longer ribbon cable attached to the front display.
The direct comparison of front panels was first published by Fanatic Fone, once again suggesting that Apple’s unannounced next-generation iPhone will sport largely the same look as the iPhone 5. That’s why the rumored device has been dubbed an “iPhone 5S” by media and fans, who expect the handset will sport an essentially identical design to Apple’s current flagship smartphone.
While there is a longer and redesigned ribbon cable on the front panel, the rest looks basically the same, aside from a few moved screws and other minor tweaks. The outside looks the same, with everything in the same place as the iPhone 5.
The area around the “iPhone 5S” home button looks basically unchanged, even though rumors have repeatedly suggested that Apple will be embedding a fingerprint scanner in the home button itself. However, none of the “leaked” photos so far indicate any significant changes.
Apple is expected to rollout a new iPhone in September. In addition to a new flagship phone, Apple is also expected to debut a low-cost iPhone equipped with a plastic back and the same 4-inch display as the current iPhone 5.
