Apple’s iCloud system status webpage shows multiple services down for some users. The services include iMessage, Backup, Photo Stream, Documents in the Cloud, and Photo Journals. According to the webpage, the outage began around 12:30 AM ET, As of the time of this post, the services have been down for over 8 hours.

Multiple Services – Less than 1% of users are affected
Users may be unable to use iCloud Documents, Photo Stream, iPhoto Journals, or Backup & Restore. Users may also be unable to send or download attachments in iMessage.
Although Apple notes less than one percent of users are affected, the number could be just under 3 million users, as iCloud is over 300 million users strong.

(UPDATE – 8/22/13) Apple’s status page reported the iTunes Store had some problems also, with 16.6% of users unable to make purchases for just under an hour, starting at 7:57 AM ET.
