The TSA Has an Instagram Account Now – You Won’t Believe What People Try to Sneak on to Planes

Remember when you were rude to the TSA person at the airport just because they wouldn’t let you take your handgun onto the plane? Well, the TSA is striking back and they’re using Instagram to do it.

TechCrunch:

Over the last few days, the TSA has been Instagramming some of the crazier things they’ve confiscated at their checkpoints from people who apparently didn’t get the whole “don’t bring things that can kill people on planes” memo. Guns! Grenades! Secret spy knives!

The photo above is an odd one. You don’t take a knife to a gunfight, but a knife-gun has got to be a winning combo, right? Not if you’re taking a commercial flight to said gunfight it’s not!

Then there’s the pack of “Marllboro” (their spelling, not mine), that is actually a stun gun. Sorry, not gonna make your flight sir, hands behind your back please…

The TSA seems to be posting a couple of pics a days, just enough to keep us coming back for more. To no one’s surprise, the account is spreading quickly. They’ve posted a mere 10 images as of this post, and they already have over 16,000 followers. The TSA has has a Twitter account for years, and only has around twice that many followers.

If you’d like to see more of the wacky, and downright dangerous stuff people try to take through security, be sure to check out the TSA’s Instagram account.
