Retina Display MacBook Pros equipped with Intel’s new Haswell processor platform could arrive later than expected, sometime in October according to the latest rumor being floated by Asian news sites.
The details were published this week by China Times, and highlighted by Macotakara on Friday. According to the report, new MacBook Pros equipped with Retina displays won’t ship until October, well after the June debut of Haswell-powered MacBook Airs.
That date is later than the mid-September debut that is expected by the usually reliable Ming-Chi Kuo. That date was cited in a note from Kuo that was published earlier this week.
Apple is reportedly still having problems with yield numbers for the high-resolution Retina displays for its notebooks.
While prices for high-resolution LCD panels and solid-state drives have dropped recently, The price of DRAM is rising, which leads observers to believe the new MacBook Pros will be sold at price points similar to current models.
