Apple Hires Former YSL CEO Paul Deneve to Work on ‘Special Projects’

Bloomberg reports the Apple has hired Paul Deneve, former CEO of high-fashion brand and retailer Yves Saint Laurent. He will report as a Vice President to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

9to5Mac:

Contrary to earlier speculation, Apple says that Deneve will work on “special projects,” not in retail. Apple has been without a de-facto Head of Retail since John Browett’s departure last fall. It is unclear what projects Deneve will be developing specifically…

Deneve worked at Apple Europe for several years prior to his stint at Yves Saint Laurent. He also advises Silicon Valley startups.

Apple made another high-profile hire this week, as Hulu Senior Vice President Pete Distad joined the company to assist in content negotiations with cable and media companies.
