Skype iOS Apps Updated With Free and Unlimited Video Messages

Skype announced video messaging for all users earlier this month. However, you could only send 20 free messages up to three-minutes long before being prompted to sign up for a $4.99 premium Skype account. With the release of today’s Skype for iOS update, you can now send unlimited free Video Messages.

Today, the software maker has finally updated Skype for iPhone and iPad with free and unlimited Video Messages, basically short videos Skype users can send to each other, even when offline.

What’s New in Version 4.9

  • Video messaging is now free and unlimited
  • Audio and video call stability improvements.
  • Share photos more reliably.
  • Improved accessibility for video messaging.
  • General fixes and improvements.

Unfortunately, Skype hasn’t created a universal binary for their iOS app yet, so you’ll have to download two separate versions if you have both an iPhone and an iPad.
