Apple finally unveiled a new Mac Pro yesterday at their WWDC keynote – something which designers and creative professionals have been awaiting for many years! And while Apple hasn’t specifically given a release date, they did give journalists attending the conference a chance to see the new Mac Pro up close and personal.
The above photos were taken by TechCrunch and Engadget, and offer a glimpse of what the device will look like both inside and out. Unfortunately, they didn’t place one next to the current Mac Pro to give an idea of just how much smaller the new Mac Pro really is.
Despite its size, the new Mac Pro is a serious spectacle of both beauty and brawn – underneath its black aluminum shell, the device packs a pair of workstation graphics cards, PCI Express flash storage, and a Xeon processor, resulting in a machine capable of outputting to 3 4K displays simultaneously – without skipping a beat!
Apple’s mention of 4K output was also interesting, fueling speculation that a new Retina-level Thunderbolt Display could be on the drawing board. In addition, the new Mac Pro also packs 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports, a smattering of USB 3.0 and FireWire connectors, and even HDMI! You can get an even better look in the below hands-on videos, courtesy of Engadget and 9to5Mac.
So, what do you think? Will you be buying one when they are finally released?
