After officially being unveiled in late January, the new BlackBerry Z10 smartphone finally went on sale in the U.S. today – the first device to run the new BlackBerry 10 OS (also introduced in January). The device is positioned as a direct competitor to the iPhone 5, Windows Phone 8, and Android devices, with a 4.2-inch screen with 1280 x 768 display resolution at 356ppi (sharper than the iPhone 5!).
The device also features 2GB of RAM, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of storage (with a MicroSD slot to expand storage), a 2MP front camera, an 8MP rear camera, 4G LTE support, and NFC for sharing content and making payments. The device is available now through Best Buy for $200 on a 2-year contract from AT&T or Verizon Wireless. It’s also available for pre-order from T-Mobile, and can be purchased unlocked with no contract for $799.99.
