Apple has added the mid-2007 Macbook and the 2005 PowerMac G5 to its list of ‘vintage’ machines, which means that Apple will no longer service and repair them, except in California. Third party resellers should continue to support them, however.
Apple defines vintage as a product discontinued ‘more than five and less than seven’ years ago, while obsolete is anything discontinued over seven years ago. Next to get thrown into the vintage bin should be the 2008 Macbook Air.
