Woz: Apple Losing The Cool Factor

In an interview with Bloomberg, Steve Wozniak once again spoke out about Apple, stating that the Cupertino company was in danger of losing its cool factor. He also touched on the iWatch, and said he would welcome such an innovation.

Woz:

We used to have these ads, I’m a Mac and I’m a PC, and the Mac was always the cool guy,” he said. “And ouch, it’s painful, because we kind of are losing that.

On the iWatch:

Wozniak, who said he’s been wearing an iPod Nano player on his wrist for the past few years, said he would welcome such an innovation, especially if Apple improves the voice-recognition function of its Siri software.

“Apple can keep engineers working so intently toward the right product, you don’t have to rush something out ahead of time,” he said.

Wozniak also said unrelated to Apple that Blackberry will inevitably have to switch to Android, and that sometimes companies need a mass of users to instantly buy the product, which Apple has.

I almost always agree with Woz and this time is no different. We’ll have to wait and see in the long term whether Apple really will become ‘uncool’.
