Twitter’s video-sharing app, Vine, received an update on Wednesday, adding Twitter and Facebook sharing, and a 17+ age rating for possible adult content.
Vine has been at the center of a small App Store controversy since the end of last month, when a hardcore pornographic clip was promoted as an “Editor’s Pick” shortly after the app launched on Jan. 24. The title was subsequently stripped of an App Store Editors’ Choice honor and pulled from the online market’s Featured section.
The update also includes a fix for an issue that caused black screens to appear and uploads to fail after creating a video on certain devices, allows you to report or block a profile, and also includes the ever popular “miscellaneous bug fixes.”
The controversy came to light as popular photo sharing app 500px was removed from the App Store a few days before Vine’s offense after concerns of nude images and child pornography were raised. 500px was allowed back in the store after an adult content warning was added and changes were made to allow reporting of inappropriate images.
