We reported yesterday that a fix was on the way for the lockscreen hack we reported earlier this week. Now comes a report that the fix will come very soon, most likely before February 20th.
German blog iFun carried word of he forthcoming fix on Friday, saying that iOS 6.1.2 will arrive early next week, and likely before February 20. iFun accurately predicted the launch of iOS 6.1.1, relying on the same sources that tell them 6.1.2 is on the way.
The lockscreen vulnerability allows an unauthorized user to bypass the lockscreen and view or modify an iPhone owner’s contacts, listen to voicemail, or browse the photos on the device.
Apple acknowledge the vulnerability on Thursday, and is said to be hard at work on the patch, although a firm release date was not announced.
