This enables customers to add their Dunkin’ Donuts Cards to Passbook and pay for food, beverages and merchandise at participating U.S. restaurants simply by scanning their pass in-store or at the drive-thru.

Balances are updated immediately after purchase and these passes are also location aware, the company said…

The location aware feature allows a notification to pop-up automatically whenever the user is near a Dunkin’ Donuts location.

The company’s app has seen more than 3 million downloads in the six months it has been available.

The app can be used to add money to an existing card, set a card to auto-recharge, and view all previous card transactions and payments via American Express, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

It will also allow the user to gift Dunkin’ Donuts cards in amounts between $2 and $100, via email, text or Facebook.

Dunkin’ Donuts joins the long list of retailers integrating their apps with Passbook.

It is unknown if the company plans to integrate their Android app with Samsung’s recently announced Passbook clone, Samsung Wallet.

The Dunkin’ Donuts app is available FREE in the App Store. [DIRECT LINK]
