AT&T has just released their latest quarterly earnings (for the holiday 2012 quarter), and reports some interesting (though not very surprising) smartphone numbers. AT&T activated a record 8.6 million iPhones during the quarter, making up a whopping 84% of their total smartphone sales.
Record Smartphone Sales and Strong Wireless Postpaid Net Adds
By comparison, Verizon activated 6.2 million iPhones during the same quarter, making up about two thirds of their total smartphone activations. In addition, the report notes that wireless revenues for the carrier have grown 5.7% year over year.
The iPhone is kicking ass at the two largest U.S. wireless carriers, and Apple also announced record iPhone sales for the quarter in their own earnings report yesterday. Just don’t tell the Apple analysts and concerned investors – as far as they’re concerned, Apple is clearly doomed!
