Consumer research firm Nielsen haas combed through their mobile app data for the year, and have put together a list of the top 10 iOS apps of 2012 (via MacRumors). The apps were selected based on the largest number of unique users, and most of the results are pretty unsurprising.
Apple’s native iOS Maps app made the list, as well as Google’s own YouTube app. Considering that the data only goes through the third quarter of 2012, it’s likely that Google Maps for iOS would have made the list also if the last 3 months were taken into account.
Other tidbits in the report are that Android continues to take more mobile market share than iOS in the U.S. by a significant margin. You can check out the full report over at Nielsen.
