China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center TENAA listed the device as model number A1455 and A1460 respectively. Obtaining such a permit has always been an indication that a release date is imminent.

The cellular capable versions of the two devices are likely to be able to support all three of China’s wireless carrier’s networks —  China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA, China Unicom’s WCDMA and China Telecom’s CDMA 2000.

The Wi-Fi only models of the iPad mini and the 4th-gen iPad debuted in mainland China on December 7th and the iPhone 5 hit the market there on December 15th.
