Following rumors that Apple had “decimated” their pro audio group (which was quickly denied by well-sourced Apple journalist Jim Dalrymple), MacRumors reader Nicholas has obtained a response straight from Apple after emailing Tim Cook about the matter.
The response comes from Apple’s head of music product marketing Xander Soren, and confirms that Apple is not cutting back their pro audio group – in fact, the group is already hard at work on developing the next version of Logic Pro, Apple’s suite of professional audio tools.
From the e-mail response:
Nicholas, thanks for your email. As the lead for our music creation apps, I always want to hear what our users are thinking. I want to assure you the team is still in place and hard at work on the next version of Logic Pro.
The upcoming version will be the first major update to Logic Pro since the release of Logic Pro 9 in 2009, and will be a welcome update to those who rely on the tool for their digital audio needs. Logic Pro 9 is available now from the Mac App Store for $199.95.
