Apple seems to be catching up to the intense demand for the iPhone 5, and has updated shipping times for the handset from 3-4 weeks to 2-3 weeks in the Apple Online Store. The device quickly saw increased shipping times shortly after ut was released due to intense demand and alleged production concerns.
Previously, Foxconn reported that production for the iPhone 5 had improved, and we are now seeing real-world evidence to back up that claim. Availability at Apple Retail Stores has remained fairly consistent – but this is among the first major improvements in iPhone 5 ship times from the Apple Online Store.
This is an excellent sign that Apple has finally managed to begin catching up for demand – a great sign for those still wanting to purchase the device, and an improvement that should see increased online sales for the holidays.
For those that prefer not to wait for an online order to arrive, you can currently reserve an iPhone 5 online for pickup in-store the next day.
