iPhone 5 Struggles With Rapid Diagonal Scrolling

The iPhone 5 has received mixed reactions from consumers, and this scrolling glitch discovered by CMA Megacorp (via Cult of Mac) is another thing that’s been (we think wrongly) highlighted as problematic. When rapid scrolling diagonally on an iPhone 5 or iPod touch, the screen seems to lock up quite often, unlike on the iPhone 4S, where the problem is nonexistent.

Recombu tested out iPhone 4Ss and iPhone 5s running both iOS 6 and iOS 6.0.1, with the 4 inch display seemingly the problematic factor, even though this cannot be confirmed.

While this is potentially a problem from developers who need rapid scrolling in their apps or Fruit Ninja players who’ve had too much coffee, the vast majority of users won’t be affected by this, and it’s already been blown way out of proportion. Who the hell swipes diagonally anyway?

The iPhone 5 can’t seem to catch a break in terms of criticism. Some many tiny problems have been completely exaggerated, and while each individual one may represent a small inconvenience for a minority, 99% of people haven’t been affected.
