As Apple continues to strengthen their iPhone 5 supplies, ship times for the iPhone 5 have decreased to just two weeks through the Apple Online Store. The previous improvement to 2-3 week shipping times was noted on November 12 – just a week earlier!
The improvement should be taken as a sign that iPhone 5 supply is finally catching up with demand, even considering the manufacturing challenges Apple is facing while producing the device. An official with Foxconn, Apple’s manufacturing partner, stated that the iPhone 5 was the “most difficult device that Foxconn has ever assembled,” and later noted that they were struggling to keep up with demand.
For those that want an iPhone 5 sooner than two weeks from now, Apple still offers a reservation system, allowing you to reserve an iPhone 5 between 10 PM and 4 AM, and pick it up at an Apple Retail Store when it opens the next day.
