Popular Mac calendar app Fantastical – my favorite Mac calendar app (review), and one of my favorite Mac apps of all time – has finally come to the iPhone. The ultimate calendar app, pocket sized! Fantastical for iPhone brings all of the features that make the Mac version great, such as the ability to create events in natural language.
From the App Store description:
Fantastical is the fastest and friendliest calendar app. Just type in “Lunch with John in Cupertino on Friday” and Fantastical will schedule it! If your device supports dictation you can also speak the details for your event and Fantastical will handle the rest. Best of all, the beautiful interface makes using your calendar fun and easy.
The ability to create events in natural language is magical – just speak something like “meet with Chris at my office on Friday”, and Fantastical goes right to work for you. The app also supports Dictation on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, which makes it even more useful.
And of course, all of those great features are wrapped up in a gorgeous design that looks fantastic on the iPhone! It even supports social events on Facebook!
It’s rare that I actually get excited about the release of an iOS app – but Fantastical has already proven itself worthy of my excitement. And although I haven’t tried the iPhone version yet, I anticipate that my excitement will be warranted once again.
The Verge, AppAdvice, MacObserver, and MacStories have great reviews up if you’d like to learn more about the app, and the experience of using it. Check out the great intro video below from Fantastical!
The app is available now for an intro price of $1.99 (half off for launch!) in the App Store.
