IBM: iOS Users Dominated Online Black Friday Shopping (Infographic)

Holiday shoppers are hitting the online stores in search of bargains again this year, and their shopping tool of choice? iOS devices. A report by IBM shows iOS users are shopping online three times as much as Android users.

AppleInsider:

According to a report on holiday shopping by IBM, published by Kara Swisher of the Wall Street Journal “All Things D” blog, Apple’s iPad “generated more traffic than any other tablet or smartphone, reaching nearly 10 percent of online shopping.”

The IBM holiday shopping report, entitled “The iPad Factor,” showed the the iPhone was close behind, with 8.7% of the holiday traffic, while the entire Android platform accounted for just 5.5%.

Tablet numbers showed the iPad had an amazing 88.3% of purchases, followed by the Nook with 3.1%. Amazon’s Kindle lineup accounted for 2.4%, with Samsung’s Galaxy tablet lineup snaring 1.8% of tablet transactions.

eBay’s PayPal division reported that its mobile transactions had grown 2-3 times, much of which was Apple devices.
