Steve Ballmer should have his own category in the dictionary. ‘Ballmerism’, ‘Ballmer WTF?!’ and ‘Sounds of Ballmer’ all deserve lengthy definitions.
Here’s a statement you can add to the ‘Ballmer WTF!?’ category. He claimed that the iPhone is highly priced and controlled and that Android is wild in an interview with with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman (via TechCrunch). Look in the mirror, mate. You can say each of those things about Microsoft.
You can listen to the interview above. He answers a question about cloud computing with one sound ‘Woooow!’ (by the way, that’s a ‘Ballmer sound’) and also said of Windows that it ‘just works’ (that’s another Ballmer WTF!?).
Finally, because we haven’t defined a ‘Ballmerism’, here’s an example of one: terrible predictions. Take, for example, his reaction to the iPhone back in 2007 (this also qualifies as a WTF!?).
