‘The Nails’ A Scary Horror Movie Shot Entirely on a Phone (Video)

Since the arrival of the iPhone five years ago, there have been quite a few “movies” shot on the iPhone. This one however, pulls it off incredibly well. The Nails was shot for the the 2011 Disposable Film Festival, a film festival dedicated to short films shot on smartphones and other pocketable cameras.

Cult of Mac:

It’s called Les Ongles, or The Nails, and it would be a discredit to describe the plot in much detail, except to say it’s a found-footage-style short that takes place during a party in Paris in which one guest is compelled to quit a nasty habit. You’re going to want to watch this.

The short film won first prize at the Disposable Film Festival, and you’ll be able to see why. It’s the perfect movie for Halloween. It does have some language, violence, and supernatural horror (but no sex and nudity), so you might not want to watch it at work. Be warned, it is intense in spots.

Update: 10/31/2012: This movie may have been shot on a Nokia N95 phone, we’re finding conflicting sources. We are looking into it. We’ll let you know when we know for sure. In any case, a nice piece of film making.
