The expectations are quickly adding up for next week’s Apple media event, with reports of a 13-inch MacBook Pro, new iMacs, new Mac Minis, and of course, the iPad Mini – the main reason for the event. But according to TheNextWeb, the event may also feature a strong focus on iBooks.
Matthew Panzarino reports for TheNextWeb:
In what will likely be completely unsurprising news to many, we’ve now heard from multiple sources that Apple’s as-yet-unannounced iPad mini event will have a strong focus on iBooks. Since an iPad mini would likely be squarely aimed at those who wish to partake of media on their tablets, that would make a lot of sense.
It has been a while since Apple gave much attention to iBooks. Considering that the iPad Mini is aimed directly at the Amazon Kindle Fire, and Barnes and Noble Nook (among other 7-inch tablets), both of which are very content-centric devices, an update to iBooks seems likely, and would be quite welcome.
Of course, the event’s primary focus will remain on hardware. The iPad Mini will receive the most emphasis, with iBooks and other hardware announcements taking second priority.
There’s apparently a lot in store for Apple’s event next week. With any luck, they’ll thrill their investors, bring their stock back up to pre-iPhone 5 levels, and show us a few shiny new products that we’ll want to get our hands on!
