A new version of iBooks, the ebook reader for iOS users, was announced today at Apple’s media event. It will be available for download later today. (Not currently available as of the time of this article.)
The new iBooks app will feature continuous scrolling and also improved integration with iCloud.
iOS users can leave one device they were reading a book on, pickup where they left off on anther device with improved accuracy.
Of course, there will now be the ability to share your reading selections with friends and family through Facebook and Twitter.
iBooks will now support more than 40 languages, including Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. The page turning animation in these languages will now turn in the direction expected by users who speak those languages.
New features include:
- A continuous scrolling option.
- Better integration with iCloud.
- Ability to share favorite parts of books on Facebook or Twitter.
- Supports over 40 languages.
