With Apple expected to unveil their 7.85-inch iPad Mini next week at their recently announced media event, Geeky Gadgets claims to have a few more details about when the device will actually launch, claiming that the device will his stores on November 2nd – 10 days after the event.
Our source, who is someone close to a major UK retailer, and has been reliable in the past, has told us that Apple will start selling the new iPad Mini on Friday the 2nd of November, the device will be available in the US And UK on this date, possibly some other countries as well.
According to Geeky Gadgets, the same source provided accurate information about the release date of the iPhone 5. November 2nd also falls in line with Apple’s tendency to release new products on Fridays. It also falls in line with a common Apple trend of launching products around one week after they are announced.
While the date does seem plausible, it’s still worth taking the report with a grain of salt, as nothing is really official until Apple reveals it themselves.
The iPad mini is expected to be as thin as an iPod touch, and feature a narrow bezel. The device is expected to sell for between $200 and $300 (1, 2), and will likely resemble a smaller version of the iPad 2. Apple has reportedly already ordered 10 million iPad Minis tor the first few months of sales.
