John Poole at Primate Labs has posted about some 4th-generation iPad benchmarks that have appeared in their Geekbench database over the weekend.
John Poole, via MacRumors:
If this benchmark result is real (and there’s nothing in the result that indicates it’s a fake) then it shows that the new iPad comes with a dual-core processor running at 1.4GHz. This result also shows that the new iPad comes with 1GB RAM, the same amount of RAM as the iPad (3rd generation) and the iPhone 5, and twice the amount of RAM as the iPad 2.
Just as Apple claimed, the 4th-generation iPad benchmarks a little more than twice as fast as the 3rd-gen model. The new iPad’s processor is based on an A6 processor, first introduced with the iPhone 5. The new device contains an A6X processor, which contains quad-core graphics to help drive its Retina Display. Clocking for the processor appear to be 1.4GHz, just slightly faster than the iPhone 5s 1.3GHz clocking.
RAM in the new, full-sized iPad looks to be 1GB, the same as the 3rd-generation model, and the iPhone 5.
The 4th-generation iPad has sold out its preorder stock, but should be available in Apple Stores on launch day, Friday, November 2nd.
