Following the release of their Passbook app with iOS 6, Apple is finally preparing to make use of the feature in their retail stores. According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple will soon update their EasyPay app for Apple retail employees, allowing them to scan Apple gift cards in store.
Of course, in order for that to be useful, Apple will also need to update their Apple Store iOS app with Passbook support. As such, an update is expected in the near future. It’s also quite possible, as the report notes, that Apple might also make use of Passbook to sign users in to Genius Bar reservations, or pick up items reserved in store.
