Following Tim Cook’s public apology about inaccurate data in the iOS 6 Maps app, it appears that the company has made good on their promise to work hard on improving the service, and has been pushing various improvements to the service.
MacRumors reports:
While improvements have been ongoing, MacRumors forum members yesterday began noticing what appears to be a larger set of additions to the 3D content in the Maps app, including both the satellite/aerial imagery and the standard maps.
Aside from updated 3D imagery, Apple is also actively fixing errors with incorrect highway and freeway exits, such as in the below image from a 9to5Mac reader in New Zealand:
It looks like Maps is going to be getting a lot better as time progresses. It’ll be interesting to see where Apple is at in comparison to Google a year from now!
