iOS 6 has been seeing the most impressive adoption rates of any version of iOS, and the latest data from analytics firm Chitika shows that iOS 6 adoption is still growing at an unheard-of rate.
According to the most recent data, a full 60% of iPhones are already running iOS 6. iPad and iPhone adoption is at around 50% and 40% for the iPad and iPod touch, respectively. From the report:
Our data shows that since the release of iOS 6, iPhone users have exhibited the highest rates of adoption, with iPad users close behind and nearing the 50% marker. iPod users are the least likely to have updated to iOS 6, but still post a remarkable 39% adoption rate just 11 days following the operating system’s (OS) release.
Those are pretty impressive adoption rates – and many, many times greater than Android devices could ever hope of seeing. The latest version of Android, Jelly Bean, saw only 1.5% adoption at the end of August – two months after its release.
