Possible Strikes By French Apple Store Employees Could Complicate iPhone 5 Launch

The last thing Apple would want on iPhone 5 launch day would be an Apple Store employee strike, and that might be about to happen in France, MacGeneration reports.

MacGeneration:

According to our sources, those behind the strike ordered 2000 bracelets (pictured above), and the demand was so high that another batch had to be made. Even certain store managers were wearing them.

The stupid thing about the situation is that, according to MacGeneration, the negotiations are stalling on some really basic points: the lack of a water fountain, for example, is causing problems. Apple is also refusing to hand out Tickets Restaurants (in France, most employers give employees food vouchers so that they don’t have to pay for their lunch).

Conflicts also exist surrounding Apple’s reluctance to give a treizieme mois of salary (most companies in France also give their employees an extra ‘thirteenth’ month of salary. Essentially, getting paid when you go on vacation).

It’s unclear if this is going to be resolved anytime soon, and French iPhone hunters might well struggle to find their new gadget if a strike does go ahead. We’ll have to see what measures Apple has up its sleeve, if any.
