Following iMore’s recent report insisting that the iPhone 5 leaks so far have been accurate, and that we will in fact see a taller two-tone design announced next week, BGR reports that cases for the new iPhone have already cropped up in AT&T’s inventory system.
One of our AT&T (T) sources sent over a few images of iPhone 5 cases that are already popping up in the company’s internal accessory systems. The images we obtained feature the iPhone 5 in two different manufacturer’s cases, and we have one additional render that shows a new screen protector.
BGR’s track record is quite spotty, but given the large amount of evidence in favor of the two-tone design for Apple’s next iPhone, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns out to be accurate – especially after iMore’s Rene Ritchie has staked his excellent track record on such claims.
It’s not uncommon for AT&T to begin receiving new iPhone cases shortly before Apple events – in fact, it has happened with every iPhone launch I can recall from memory. At any rate, this should go down as one more item in the already extensive list of reasons in favor of a taller two-tone iPhone 5 being announced next week.
Apple’s next iPhone will feature a taller 4-inch screen, thinner design, and a two-tone metal rear casing, as well as a smaller dock connector, relocated FaceTime camera, new smaller nano-SIM, and LTE support.
