iPhone 5 owners who enjoy the benefits of jailbreaking their device are in for some good news! Respected jailbreak hacker Grand Paul (chpwn) just posted a screenshot on Twitter showing a successfully jailbroken iPhone 5.

While a public release of an iOS 6 and iPhone 5 jailbreak isn’t expected anytime in the immediate future, this is still excellent news, as it shows developers are making rapid progress on the jailbreaking effort very early on in the process.
The screenshot is mainly notable considering Paul’s reputation regarding iOS security. He later confirmed to another jailbreak developer that the device is indeed jailbroken, and not just running on a simulator.

A public release of any kind wouldn’t be expected for a least a couple of months, if at all (there’s always a chance that no stable jailbreak will ever come to fruition). Even so, this should be promising news to jail-breakers with iPhone 5s!
