For those of you that aren’t thrilled with Apple’s new Maps app in iOS 6, and don’t feel like waiting for Apple to “fix” it, we’ve got a tip that just might come in handy! You can still use Google Maps on your iOS right now, and even create an icon for it on your home screen!
T add Google Maps, just open Safari, and head to http://Maps.Google.com, then simply tap “Add to Home Screen” from the sharing menu (the same menu you use to create a bookmark).
There is a catch however: Since Google Maps is a web app, it isn’t quite as nice as something native that you might purchase from the App Store. It might also be worth giving iOS 6 Maps a serious try before judging it – it’s really not as bad as the media at large is making it seem!
If you do prefer not to use iOS 6 Maps, and still prefer something native, there’s always TomTom, Sygic, Garmin, and a number of other third-party apps that you might like as well!
