While Apple’s own online store sold out of iPhone 5 preorders in record time (less than an hour!), there’s still hope if you’d like to pre-order one for delivery on launch day! The secret? Pre-order directly from your carrier’s website!
A quick check at the three U.S. iPhone carriers reveals that AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon all still have pre-orders available for delivery on launch day (as of 9:24 AM MT). You can be certain that won’t last for long, however, so if you still want to get your pre-order in, do it now! I suspect that many non-U.S. carriers will still have stock as well.
We’re also hearing that many Best Buy and Walmart stores in the U.S. still have preorders available for launch day, as they are each reserved a set number of “guaranteed” pre-orders independent from Apple’s main retail supply.
Links to each carrier’s iPhone 5 pre-order sites can be found below!
Update: Verizon now sold out of first batch of pre-orders.
Update 2: Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange, and Three (U.K.) also still have launch-day pre order stock (websites are experiencing some issues, however).
