You’re ready to buy that shiny new iPhone 5, but you’re still confused about all the different plans and prices the carriers offer. On contract, contract-free… SHEESH! It’s almost enough to make you want to go back to your old flip-phone. Almost.
The fine folks over at Lifehacker have put together two excellent charts that shows you options for both the big three, (AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon), and two pre-paid carriers, (Cricket, who will be carrying the 5, and Virgin Mobile, who currently only carries the 4S, but possibly may carry the 5 at a later date.)
Sprint is the only contract carrier offering truly unlimited data to it’s customers. No throttling, or caps. If you’re a heavy data user, keep that in mind.
If you’re choosing on price alone, make sure to pay attention to the pricing schemes listed in the charts.
Don’t forget to check the carrier’s coverage maps. Low price means nothing if you can’t get a good, fast data signal.
We hope this info will help you make a good decision when deciding on a carrier. Pre-Orders start at 12:01 AM Friday, so start getting your mouse fingers limber!
