Who would you trust most in an airport? The security staff perhaps? Well, if you do, you might find yourself with a few less gadgets by the time you board your plane. A fascinating report from ABC News has uncovered the surprisingly large numbers of TSA officers who’ve been caught stealing tech, and it even managed to catch one of them red handed stealing a planted iPad.
Andy Ramirez, the thief in question, has since been fired by TSA, but it is fairly worrying – 11 others have already been sacked this year for the same offence, while 381 got canned between 2003 and 2012.
So, if you’re ever travelling in the US, the one place you do want to keep an eye on your tech, especially iPad is at the TSA checkpoint. Otherwise you might not have it by the time you get to your destination.
