Apple Store Down Ahead of iPhone 5 Pre-orders (Update: Pre-orders are Open!)

The Apple Online Store has been taken offline to prepare for iPhone 5 pre-orders, which are set to begin in about 3 hours, at 12:01 AM PT. Are you pre-ordering? Are you ready to snatch up an iPhone 5 before the pre-orders become backorders?

I know I’ll be there when the veil lifts! Get those credit cards warmed up, folks!
